THREE LIGHT SOLD
Two gorgeous 1930s slip shade fixtures from the Gill Glass Co. The first resides near
Digby, NS and the other, Montreal, PQ.
Another original finish, strongly Art Deco Gill Glass Co. beauty, now residing in Minneapolis,
Minnesota.
This
stunning semi-flush mount fixture by Markel has been carefully restored to retain the original subtle hues. This elegant
slip-shade fixture was just one of several finishing touches we sent for a
Santa Barbara renovation.
These
two Markel slip shade chandeliers
from the mid-1930s have slightly different finishes and shade colours. The peach
shaded one graces an office in San Jose, California. I use the second image in
much of my advertising.
Here
are two more examples of three-light Markel
fixtures. The one on the left is featured in a new Minnesota home, while the
fancy pudding cup style fixture reminded the buyer of childhood summers spent
at her grandparents’ 1930s Nova Scotia home.
The
brass flush mount at left carries the “X” pattern into the pressed shades.
We’ve never had another quite like the copper fixture on the right. Both Atlantic Canada buyers were pleased to find
such style for their eight foot ceilings.
A
variation of the previous for a home with higher ceilings. The slight blue
green in the Sheffield shades is unusual, and this has become another favourite
advertising image. This beauty now graces a home in Urbana, Ohio.
This very elegant and very old original patina fixture
remains one of my favourites, and has found a very suitable home. For those of
you who love following interesting restoration stories, have a look at this
blog that we were thrilled to be included on, describing the transformation of
an authentic gold rush home in Atlin, BC:

Many thanks to
this adventurous lady, who was so nice to do business with. I wish her and her
family continued pleasure and success with their admirable venture!
