PENDANTS SOLD
This combination of solid copper fitter,
chain and canopy along with a stunning amber crackle glass Art Deco shade went
home with a British Columbia couple just completing restoration work on their
period Vancouver home.
This lovely tasseled milk glass and brass pendant, dated
1920, made the opposite journey of the
light fixture above. It was purchased in Chemainus,
on Vancouver Island, and now resides on the east coast, in New Brunswick.
This huge rose bowl three chain
fixture, circa 1900 was purchased by Stewart Manville on behalf of the
International Percy Grainger Society as part of the restoration efforts for the
original Percy Grainger home
at 7 Cromwell Place, White Plains, New York. Mr. Manville, the
caretaker of this famous pianist/composer home (now a museum), was a pleasure to
do business with, and the cause is well worth checking out:
These exceptional foyer pendants were
used commercially in their former lives. The centre shade was once part of an
early streetlight, while the two metal encased slag glass pendants once
graced elegant theatres. These fixtures now welcome residents and guests in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Anderson, South
Carolina and Magnolia, Texas homes.
This
brass entry pendant with vaseline
glass shade and unusual pull switch was too irresistible for an Ontario woman
to leave behind.
Three examples of brass foyer pendants
with rounded, cut glass shades. These circa 1900 beauties add an elegant touch
to entryways in homes as diverse as their locations, from Atlantic Canada to
the Midwestern United States.
